Northland Venues and Events approached us looking for guidance and strategy around the development of a signature event for Whangarei.
The Fritter Festival was the result of team brainstorming, creating a fun, family-friendly event celebrating music, food and wine. The humble ‘fritter’ is a common feature of New Zealand summers, and it was this iconic snack that gave the event it’s name and challenged all the attending restaurants to find a fresh take on fritters. Fritter has now enjoyed two successful years.
The Fritter brand needed to be professional and fun, appealing to both locals and visitors, with the event strongly promoted around Northland and in Auckland.
We developed a number of concepts before landing on the final brand, which had extremely positive feedback and helped attract over 3,000 people to the inaugural event, enjoying non-stop music over the two stages and dozens of food and wine stalls, not to mention a giant water slide!
Video is the perfect medium to capture the atmosphere, the energy and the vibe of Fritter. It seemed wherever you looked, people were enjoying themselves.
Given the viral nature of event promotion these days, video of the inaugural Fritter Festival was critical in order to promote the event for future years. Our video of this, and subsequent, events captures the true essence of the day, showing a happy and relaxed crowd absolutely loving the music, food, wines and other entertainment.
Capturing Fritter is always a great deal of fun, with 8 hours of non-stop entertainment and over 3,000 happy punters enjoying great weather and a great atmosphere.
Throughout the events, we have captured promotional images of all the bands who crossed the stage, including top quality bands from around New Zealand as well as talent from closer to home. We always make sure to get around all the food stands, photographing (and sampling!) the delicious fritters on offer, as well as getting some great shots of (big and little) kids getting air time on the giant water slide.
